School projects
Syphilis
My teacher asked me to do a project on any topic we desire, or that has or will be covered in RSE class. This project would be 80% of our total grade for the module. I decide to chose syphilis as I found it interesting. I learnt information about how the bacterial disease spareads and effects its hosts. I gathered the information online from such sites as Wikipedia and CDC. I also learnt about the disease from my father as he studied viral and bacterial infections in university. I then collected all of the information onto a word document and proceeded to print it out. When it was printed I cut the information out and glued it to an A3 poster. I then presented my project on the second of October to the class. I have learnt a lot about STI's and how to prevent contracting them.

Forensic science
I really enjoyed forensic science. It was amazing to learn about how police departments can find criminals months after the crime was comitted due to modern recognition systems. The smallest trace of an individual will be detected by police forensic teams. It was interesting to learn about all the different methods like odenthology and finger print analysis. I hope other students get to experience this course.
mt.eldfell
In geography me and my group partner Jessica made a project on the worlds newest mountain. This is Mt.eldfell in Iceland. It was produced by an eruption in 1973 and stopped flights across the UK. It was very interest learning about the volcanic eruption and all of its cause and effects.
Geography poster on what geography means to me
For the first couple of classes in geography my class and I each had to make a poster on what we believed geography to mean. I drew a picture of the planet with cities, mountains, volcanoes and people of all races. This was a fun re-introduction to one of my favourite subjects
Cordyceps
I had to do a biology project on something to do with a habitat. I decided to do the fungus cordyceps and how it effects tropical climates. The fungus spreads by taking control of insects and feeding off them until finally it kills them nearby a hive or colony of more insects releasing spores to continue the cycle. I learnt a lot about this interesting alien-like fungus.
Indonesian coffee
For geography I was assigned a project on coffee production in Indonesia. I really enjoyed this project as I learnt much about the poor living conditions of workers on coffee plantations. Only 30% of the work force has access to electricity and 2% have access to sewage. It made me look at the coffe industry in a new light.
Disease through history
In the second term I did a biology project on the major epidemics throughout history. I learnt to recognise the common trends from which disease appears. Large outbreaks are always accommodated by poor hygiene and a high population density. The most interesting part to me was the plague of Athens which devastated the ancient world. I thought this was intriguing because I didn't realise it existed until then.
leadership
I did my leadership project comparing Hinrick Himmler and Nelson Mandelas. I learn about the different qualities that make up a leader and how to contrast their ability. I found it interesting how they were so charismatic and could easily influence others to their cause in such similar manners despite their vast ideological differences.
Geography journal
For serval months I had to keep a record of all natural disasters happening around the world. I learnt about the volume of natural disasters that happen constantly that go without being covered by the news. As I researched each of these catastrophies I took down all of the key information into this journal. This included the power of the disaster E.G magnitudes of an earthquake or the category of hurricane, the number of dead and injured and the length of the disaster.
Ordinance survey map
As a project we completed an ordinance survey map. We obtained the grid references and located key a reason the map such as police stations and regions of high altitude.
